“ This was a happy stumble upon, as we didn't know what to look for and expect in the area we were in. One of my business partners was looking for tacos, and I mean...tacos are life, so yeah, here we go! But...this place...whoahhh. A rather standard cafe feel greets, with prompt greeting from the wait-staff. A low noise level and semi-quiet and quaint atmosphere is abundant. Talk about a well executed fusion menu! We got the charred poblano and the Mexican arancini for apps - and both of them were outstanding! The charred poblano was stuffed cheese and chorizo, the Mexican arancini was this outstanding blend of cotija and monterey! The short rib quesadilla was outstanding, a perfect quesadilla with this amazing flavor permeating it from the short rib and the perfect touch of the poblano garlic aioli. The risotto was an equally amazing match, with all the flavors of garlic, cotija, and poblano. ”

“ 42 Fusion occupies the completely renovated space formally occupied by The Sunset Cafe (Grille). From the new corner entrance to the bright and cheerful dining rooms, to the sparkling clean restrooms, you will embrace the new decor. Of the four couples who enjoyed cocktails and dinner last evening, we all commented favorably on the libations and the entrees. The colamari appetizer, although tasty, was not as crisp as it could have been (deep fryer not hot enough?) The tacos, salmon salad, and short rib meals, with rave reviews for the Mexican Lasagna, were delicious, ,plentiful, and were taken home either in boxes or our stomachs! Please understand that this unique Mexican/Italian restaurant is just now getting their feet under them, and are successfully on their way to becoming one of our favorites! ”

“ I wouldn't describe the menu as a true endeavor in fusion. Think Italian and American fare with Mexican influences. There's nothing that's unfamiliar to the American palate, it's all standard stuff. The food quality is high and for the most part, our food was executed properly. Everything appears to be made from scratch. Everyone at our table of eight had good things to say about their dishes. Presentation is not an afterthought, dishes are presented nicely. Our server was amiable and eager to please. She was young, and I got the impression she was inexperienced as a server, but she did her best to make us happy, and that's what matters. The restaurant is in good shape, it appears to have been recently refreshed, but the ambiance is not really anything special. You're not going to 42 Fusion for the ambiance. You're going there for the friendly service and good food. You're going there to eat. Lastly, prices are reasonable and portions are what I call "right-sized." They're large enough to satiate, but not large enough that you'll drag home a second meal. ”

“ 42 Fusion opened in Ballston Spa recently. This fusion restaurant offers a blend of Mexican and Italian cuisines into most of their food items and dishes including their appetizers, salads, pastas, and main entrees. For lunch, they offer paninis and quesadillas and their dessert selection includes churros, cannolis, tiramisu, flan and ice cream. The prices are moderate, slightly high, in line with other restaurants in Saratoga Springs area. They have 3 dining rooms, front, middle and back near the kitchen. There was upbeat Mexican music at moderate volume over the speakers. I stopped by 42 Fusion for an early dinner. I heard great things about their Mexican Lasagna ($22 plus tax), so I immediately ordered this after being seated in the middle dining room, which I chose. The Mexican Lasagna entree was served to me in about 10 minutes. Though not piping hot, this lasagna had dense layers of noodles, ground beef, chorizo, veal, tomato sauce, melted mozzarella cheese and Oaxacan cheese. The flavors worked well for a very hearty fusion comfort dish. I did not order dessert and just got the check which was $23.54 (cash) or $24.48 (credit card) with tax and before tip. Overall, a good lasagna here, but it could've been slightly hotter. The service was acceptable and I was in and out in about 25 minutes. ”
